MURRAY M. RESNICK
NEW YORK — Services for Murray M. Resnick, a retired handbag manufacturer, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Riverside Gordon Chapel in Miami Beach, Fla.
Resnick, 74, died suddenly Dec. 1 in Pisa, Italy, collapsing while at the airport to meet his wife, Annice. The cause of death has not been determined.
Resnick spent his entire career as a handbag manufacturer, working for the family firm bearing his father’s name, the late Julius Resnick.
The trademark for Julius Resnick Inc., founded in 1933, was sold to The Mutterperl Group in 1986. Murray Resnick continued working under contract to Mutterperl, living and working in Hong Kong through 1990, when he retired to Castiglione del Lago, Italy, near Florence.
For the last 12 years, Resnick also served as a director for Elk Associates Funding Corp., a finance firm here.
In addition to his wife, Resnick is survived by a sister, Irene Resnick; three daughters, Leslie Granoff, JoAnn Small and Ellen Franco, and seven grandchildren.
