NEW YORK — Robin Lewis has been appointed executive editor and associate publisher of Women’s Wear Daily.
Lewis will be in overall charge of WWD’s editorial operation and will supervise the paper’s expanding coverage of critical strategic issues facing all segments of the fashion business, both domestic and international.
Lewis, a vice president at Fairchild Publications, joined the company in 1993 as the head of corporate marketing. Prior to that, he spent 12 years in various executive positions with VF Corp., including vice president, marketing, for the Girbaud division and vice president of business development.
Lewis has also had extensive experience in the fiber and textile industries, starting his career with Du Pont, followed by a stint at Grey Advertising, where he was account supervisor for the Celanese Corp. “Robin adds a new dimension to the editorial strength of WWD,” said Patrick McCarthy, executive vice president for editorial at Fairchild. “His wide experience and keen mind will enable us to cover not just the present but also the future.”
Lewis succeeds Etta Froio, who has been named senior vice president, editorial. Lewis reports to Froio.
