New York — “We learn early in life what we have and how fortunate we are,” observed Michael Gould at Wednesday night’s American Image Awards at New York’s Sheraton Hotel.
The Bloomingdale’s chief executive officer was honored, along with the brothers Haggar, E.R. and Joe Jr., for their community involvement and corporate volunteerism.
“I have no illusions about why I’m here this evening — I’m a surrogate for each and every one of you,” said Gould, who spoke of the industry’s commitment to aiding the less privileged.
The Image Awards gala, presented by The Fashion Association, drew 700 of the country’s top retailers and apparel makers to benefit The Clothing Bank/New Clothes for the Homeless.
