Ines de la Fressange is hitting New York — hard. To celebrate the success of her shop in Saks Fifth Avenue, the ex-Chanel model, her husband, Luigi d’Urso, and their eight-month-old daughter, Nine, will come to town Nov. 13 for a week. Saks will throw a party for de la Fressange in the store on Nov. 16, and host a cocktail party and dinner at Mortimer’s. Diane Von Furstenberg and Gita Mehta will also host dinners in their honor.
Retailers on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills will shake off their decorous image this holiday season with the help of Cher and 100 Santas, all riding Harley-Davidsons. “Happy Harley-Days” will begin with a Cher-Santa ride through the shopping district Dec. 4. It follows the “Rejoice on Rodeo” celebration, with a cookie-and-tea affair that kicks off the holiday shopping season. n It may not have been last minute accessorizing that held up Marc Jacobs’ show for nearly an hour Sunday, but Johnny Depp. Nearly 45 minutes after the show was supposed to start, the lights finally went down and the music was cranked up — only to be cut immediately: It seems the show’s producers got word that a tardy Depp was finally in the elevator on his way up to the show. After another five minutes of waiting, the show went on — with Depp in the wings. According to Jacobs’ partner, Robert Duffy, Depp wasn’t being rude, just shy. He had planned to slip in at the last minute all along to watch girlfriend Kate Moss walk the runway.
