DONALD HORNING NAMED TO HEAD CDG HOLDINGS
NEW YORK — Donald M. Horning has been named president and chief executive officer of CDG Holdings Inc. and its operating subsidiary, Cambridge Dry Goods.
Horning succeeds Robert J. Matura, who had been acting ceo since May.
Matura moved into the position when company founder Kent Spellman resigned as ceo. Spellman had headed the firm since it was founded 12 years ago.
Matura, who once was chairman of Warnaco, is no longer affiliated with CDG. He is active in international sourcing, including a business venture in China, according to CDG officials.
Horning reports to CDG’s board.
Prior to joining Cambridge Dry Goods, Horning was president of the women’s division at Bugle Boy Industries.
A successor has not been named.
Earlier, Horning was in marketing at The Leslie Fay Cos., Jones New York and JH Collectibles.
