Services were held today for beauty industry veteran Saul Resnick, who died Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital. He was 61. The cause of death was a heart attack, according to his son, James Resnick.
Resnick began working for Pierre Balmain in 1973, eventually rising to president of Pierre Balmain International’s USA division. He oversaw Balmain’s licensing in the U.S., including the Balmain fragrances.
For a period in 1993, Resnick was chairman of Alfin Inc., a fragrance company majority-owned by Erich Fayer, who also owns the Balmain business.
From 1990 until his death, Resnick was on the board of directors of Jean Philippe Fragrances.
In addition to his son, he is survived by his sister, Alicia Azran.
