NEW YORK — Cone Mills Corp. Wednesday named Michael L. Fulbright president of its Textile Products Group’s denim division, effective Dec. 1.
He replaces Bud H. Willis 3rd, who, as reported, will become group president of Textile Products on Jan. 1, when Richard Vetack, who currently holds that post and is also a senior vice president of Cone, retires.
Fulbright, currently president of the gray goods manufacturing division of Springs Industries — a post he has held since 1992 — will remain with Springs through Nov. 30. No successor for Fulbright at Springs has been named, said a company spokesman.
In 1993, the Textile Products Group — which includes the denim, NorthPointe Specialty Sportswear and international divisions — represented nearly $575.8 million of Cone’s $769.2 million in overall sales. The company doesn’t break out division sales for Textile Products.
In other moves in Cone’s Textile Products Group, Jerry W. Kennedy has been named president of the NorthPointe Specialty Sportswear division, and Miguel G. Rubiera, president of the International division. The posts are new and are expansions of their current duties as executive vice presidents of their respective divisions.
