THE FUTURE OF TEXTILES: Tissu Premier, the twice-yearly textile show in Lille, France, is introducing a new textile show that will run April 23-24 in the Lille Grand Palais, the same space that houses Tissu Premier. Called Future by Tissu Premier, the show will feature 60 mostly French exhibitors who produce high-tech fabrics. Pascale Gould, marketing director at show organizer Eurovet said: “The majority of exhibitors at Future by Tissu Premier are showing fabrics that feature an innovative quality such as easy care or climate control.
EINSTEIN COLLEGE HONORS: Two textile executives and one retailer are to be honored next week at a dinner benefiting the Men’s Division of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in the Bronx. They are Bruce Roberts, executive director of the Textile Distributors Association; Jim Gordon, president and chief executive of importer Gordon Textiles International Ltd., and Myron Fishkin, president of Maggy Boutique. The event is to be held April 25 at Einstein’s Jack and Pearl Resnick campus.
