NEW YORK — As part of its Intimate Portraits series, Lifetime Television has taken on one of beauty’s reigning dynasties: the Lauder women.
The one-hour program, which airs on Lifetime Thursday, April 25, at 7 pm EDT, focuses on matriarch Estee Lauder and the family members who now help to run the company: Evelyn Hausner Lauder, Aerin Lauder and Jane Lauder. After tracing Estee Lauder’s roots — from her birth in Queens as Josephine Esther Mentzer, to her beginnings in the beauty business in 1930 selling her uncle’s face cream, to the birth of The Estee Lauder Cos. in 1946, to her retirement from active participation in 1993 — the program examines the current roles of Evelyn, Aerin and Jane Lauder within the company.
In addition to the company information contained within the program, it also features a number of photographs from the Lauder family’s private photo albums — including a proud Estee holding a year-old Leonard.
