OVER 100,000 EXPECTED AT REVLON RUNS

NEW YORK — Roughly $367,000 per kilometer — not bad for foot power.
Revlon’s Run/Walk for Women has raised a total of $22 million for women’s cancer research through 12 events held over the last eight years. The company will look to add to that figure on May 4, then again on May 11, when the 5K events are held in New York and Los Angeles, respectively.
Attendance in New York this year is expected to rise 12 percent to 45,000 participants. The amount of funds raised is likely to eclipse last year’s total of $1.8 million. Renee Zellweger and Jesse L. Martin will host the event along with special guests Barbara Walters and Karen Duffy. Registration costs $20 until April 27, when it increases to $25.
In Los Angeles, attendance numbers are also expected to increase — from 55,000 last year to over 60,000 participants this year, driving the amount raised past the $2.8 million sum in 2001. Andy Garcia will host the event along with Zellweger and Duffy. Registration costs $25 until May 1, when it increases to $30.
