NEW YORK — After a career full of fashion, Lord & Taylor director of publicity Sunny Lebowitz has retired.
“I don’t know what ‘retired’ is, but I’m just excited about being able to enjoy New York, to travel and to relax,” said Lebowitz, who lives in Manhattan but is originally from Baltimore, where she started her career writing features and covering fashion at the Baltimore Sun.
She spent about six years in journalism, including at Mademoiselle here as press editor. After leaving journalism, she held director positions in sales and promotion at Gimbel’s here, May D&F in Denver and Elizabeth Arden Salons. She managed publicity at Lord & Taylor for the last six years.
“My foundation and what I loved most of all was writing and one thing just led to another,” said Lebowitz, noting she’ll most likely start freelancing again.
Her hobbies include traveling, reading and “enjoying the city.”
At Lord & Taylor, her publicity duties are now shared between Dana Marnane, who handles business-related editorial requests, and Marilu Menendez, on fashion.
