NEW YORK — Liz Claiborne Inc. has promoted Angela Ahrendts and Trudy Sullivan to the newly created positions of executive vice president.
Ahrendts and Sullivan will continue to report to Paul R. Charron, chairman and chief executive officer.
In her new role, Ahrendts, currently senior vice president of corporate merchandising and group president for Laundry by Shelli Segal, Lucky Brand Dungarees, all men’s brands and the licensed Kenneth Cole New York and DKNY businesses, will be given the additional responsibilities of Dana Buchman and Sigrid Olsen. Gail Cook, group president, will continue to manage Dana Buchman and Sigrid Olsen, reporting to Ahrendts.
Trudy Sullivan, presently group president of Liz Claiborne Casual, Collection and Liz Claiborne woman, will assume the additional responsibility for accessories, cosmetics, retail, outlet and licensing. Accessories will continue to be managed by Ed Bucciarelli, president, accessories group, and Bob Negron, group president, will maintain management for cosmetics, retail, outlet and licensing. Both will report to Sullivan.
Commenting on the personnel changes, Charron said the appointments fulfill key objectives.
“In Angela and Trudy, we have strategic, product-focused, bottom-line oriented managers who have demonstrated their ability to anticipate and embrace the changes in our environment,” he said. “[These appointments] better position us to execute our future growth strategies within the organization and pursue additional opportunities domestically and internationally.”
Ahrendts joined Liz Claiborne in 1998 from Henri Bendel, where she was vice president-general merchandise manager. Prior to that, Ahrendts was president of Donna Karan Collection.
Sullivan joined Claiborne in 2001 from J. Crew Group, where she was president. Previously, she was at The Avenue, Decelle, T. Deane and Filene’s. She began her career at Jordan Marsh.
