KATE’S NEW BAG: ACTING

Byline: Julie Naughton

NEW YORK — Talk about product placement.
The soon-to-be launched Kate Spade Beauty line — coming in May from the Estee Lauder Cos. — is the subject of the next episode of the NBC comedy series “Just Shoot Me,” airing Thursday, April 11 at 9:30 pm EST.
In the episode, entitled “Blush Gets Some Therapy,” designer Kate Spade, appearing as herself, comes in to show off her new fragrance and body care line to the fictional Blush magazine’s editor, played by George Segal. During the episode, the staff’s rude behavior scares potential advertiser Spade out of the building, and Segal decides it’s time for the magazine to get a corporate therapist.
While Spade’s bags have been featured on the show since its inception, this episode marks the first time a real designer has appeared on the show — and it also marks Spade’s television debut. Her brother-in-law, David Spade, is a regular on the show.
