NEW YORK — Brylane Inc., the catalog company specializing in low-priced large sizes, misses’, men’s wear and home products, said Michael G. Shannon will become chief operating officer on April 15. In this newly created position, Shannon will be responsible for leading the operations and support functions, including information technology, distribution, customer relations and procurement. He will report to Russell Stravitz, chief executive officer.
Shannon, 50, has 33 years experience in operations. Previously, he worked at Toys ‘R’ Us, serving as president of worldwide logistics and administration, leading the technology, real estate, guest services and distribution functions. Before that, Shannon spent 15 years at the former Mercantile Stores where, in his last position, he served as ceo of the Gayfer’s-Maison Blanche division.
Brylane’s brands include Chadwick’s of Boston, Lerner, Lane Bryant, Roaman’s, Jessica London, King Size, Brylane Home and Brylane Home Kitchen and a licensing agreement with Sears Shop at Home Services Inc.-Brylane is a subsidiary of Redcats, which is the home shopping division of Pinault-Printemps-Redoute.
