NEW YORK — Sure, there’s still a bit of belt-tightening going on, but that doesn’t mean a girl has to give up the glamorous life completely. And for fall, bridge designers are making sure she gets a piece of it. Smooth and sleek are the operative words, while the luxe slant comes from the details and fabrics, whether it’s mink trim on a classic shell and skirt at Oscar by Oscar de la Renta, or Elie Tahari’s penchant for cashmere, which is adding a plush touch to lean shapes. Dana Buchman takes jacket and skirt duos to a new level with a great boucle jacket and short dress that look demure for day and sexy for night. And Margot, Gwyneth Paltrow’s character in “The Royal Tenenbaums,” would love the dramatic coats by Edward Wilkerson for Lafayette 148, which include a flowing camel cashmere kimono coat and a cool patched shearling look.
