DIOR, SAFILO RENEW LICENSE
PARIS — Christian Dior has renewed its licensing agreement for eyewear with Safilo Group.
Partners since 1996, the two firms said Thursday that Safilo will dedicate a high tech production facility in Linz, Austria, soley to the Dior brand. Sidney Toledano, president of Christian Dior Couture, also noted that the agreement will be extended to men’s eyewear, which will be introduced next year.
Dior accounts for about 10 percent of Safilo’s business, whose 2001 sales are projected to reach roughly $744 million.
