FRESH FACE: A trendy low-priced lingerie label called 6ixty 8ight will make its debut at next month’s Salon International de la Lingerie.
The line, manufactured in China by Hop Lun, is designed by 24-year-old French designer Benedicte d’Elloy, who is among the most recent players to give bras and panties a more fashionable spin.
“The spirit of the line comes from the podium,” said Stephanie Marechal, the brand’s European director of marketing. “Lingerie is becoming a fashion accessory and we interpret that spirit with decorative items.”
The line’s debut collection is centered on three themes — working, relaxing and after-hours — with looks that run the gamut from practical to risque. Prices for the 55-piece line range from $10 for panties to $34 for a bra.
“There’s a lot of fashion in the line, from denim touches on bras to sequins,” said Marechal.
She added that the company first aims to build business for the 6ixty 8ight line in Europe before concentrating on America.
