GETTING SHUT OUT: The Hollywood Foreign Press may think these ladies’ 2001 performances are not up to snuff, but the glamour of Globe regulars Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Michelle Pfeiffer, Meg Ryan, Julianne Moore, Kim Cattrall, Penelope Cruz and Kristin Davis will be missed this year. And we’re sure Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein will feel the same. That is — unless these ladies decide to be presenters.
JUMPING THE GUN: Let’s just say there are some red-carpet regulars with egg on their faces today. Their publicists and stylists had already started calling the L.A. reps of several high-profile European designers, ordering up gowns early to beat the post-Christmas Globes rush. Apparently they spoke too soon: several weren’t tapped on Thursday morning. The lucky nominees, however, snapped into action, and a number of houses in Europe and New York will most likely be working over the holidays.
