ADWEEK’S HOT LIST RELEASED

NEW YORK — Fortune magazine nabbed “Top Magazine” of the year in Adweek Magazine’s Hot List 2001, an annual list of business successes in the consumer magazine industry. The list, scheduled to appear on newsstands today, also named Time Inc. chairman and chief executive officer Don Logan as Executive of the Year, and Marie Claire editor in chief Glenda Bailey was named Editor of the Year. As reported Friday, O: The Oprah Magazine was hailed as Startup of the Year, while Details earned the Creative Team of the Year honors.
Fortune’s top ranking marks the sixth consecutive year that Time Inc. grabbed the top magazine spot, and the third year in a row that Fortune made the Hot List.
The full list of titles and their publishers, in order, is: Fortune (Time); InStyle (Time); Vanity Fair (Conde Nast); Maxim (Dennis Publishing); Fast Company (Gruner + Jahr USA); ESPN: The Magazine (Disney Magazine Publishing and Hearst Corp.); Martha Stewart Living (Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia); Marie Claire (Hearst); Yahoo! Internet Life (Ziff Davis Media) and Teen People (Time).
