WELLA COSMETICS ARM PENS PACT WITH CRAWFORD
PARIS — Cosmopolitan Cosmetics, Wella AG’s cosmetics and fragrance arm, inked a long-term license agreement with top model Cindy Crawford for marketing fragrances and personal care products.
The first women’s fragrance line is expected for fall 2002. It will be positioned in the bridge-priced sector, distributed to department stores, drugstores and perfumeries, according to a Cosmopolitan spokeswoman.
This is the firm’s second venture with a top model. In 1998, it signed on Naomi Campbell, whose first women’s scent was introduced in 1999.
Cosmopolitan’s portfolio also includes bridge-priced fragrance brands Mexx, Marc O’Polo, Gabriela Sabatini and 4711. In the prestige market, key names include Alfred Dunhill, Gucci Parfums, Montblanc and Rochas.
