JACOBS, VUITTON EXTEND DEAL
PARIS — Marc Jacobs is renewing his contract as creative director of Louis Vuitton for an additional five years, WWD has learned. Jacobs was slated to sign the documents today in the presence of Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, according to sources.
Jacobs was the first American designer to sign up with Arnault’s luxury empire. He joined Vuitton in 1997 to create a ready-to-wear line and update the image and accessory lines of the group’s most profitable brand.
