IN BRIEF

NO ACCORD WITH CAMBODIA: The U.S. and Cambodia were unable to reach an agreement Tuesday on an extension of a bilateral textile and apparel pact, which expires at the end of the year, according to a source at the Cambodian embassy. Negotiators faced difficulties in forging a new agreement in the first round of talks, which were only a day-and-a-half long, according to another source familiar with the negotiations. The sources expect U.S. trade officials to unilaterally impose this year’s apparel and textile quota limits on Cambodia in the interim, pending further discussions.
