NEW YORK — Danskin is getting some kicks with the Radio City Rockettes.
Through a new deal, Danskin is outfitting the 175-member troupe with dancewear and legwear for rehearsals, and sponsoring The Rockette Experience, a multi-city tour that offers dance classes to girls, and the Rockettes’ national audition tour. Danskin signage will be posted during auditions, rehearsals and media events.
With the exception of L’eggs, which provided the Rockettes with products in the Eighties, Danskin is the first major brand to support the troupe in this fashion, a Radio City spokeswoman said.
The Radio City Carnivale Spectacular, a new production featuring the fabled dance company which is now in its 75th year, will bow in May 2002.
Founded in 1882, Danskin has long had a toehold in the dance business, specializing in such staples as knit tights and leotards.
