‘SHECOMMERCE’ STAKES OUT SAKS

NEW YORK — Oxygen Media’s “SheCommerce” television show, which highlights shopping Web sites for female consumers, has found a new home. As of today, the show will begin taping on the designer third floor of New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue.
The show, which airs on the Oxygen Network Monday through Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., is hosted by Wendy Shanker, Leticia Castillo and Janine Marino.
“For the next three months, Saks will be the place where these three smart and opinionated women from diverse backgrounds get together and discuss what’s new in the world of online shopping, fashion and commerce in general,” an Oxygen spokeswoman told WWD.
“SheCommerce” will be taped at Saks every Friday, with new episodes scheduled to make their debut on Oxygen during the first week of April. “SheCommerce” premiered on the Oxygen Network in February 2000, and was originally taped at the Starbucks on New York’s Park Avenue and 29th Street. “The whole decision to go coffee was based on the idea that women shop and then go for coffee afterward and talk about what they bought,” said the Oxygen spokeswoman. “Situating it now at Saks brings the show back to shopping itself.”
The premiere Saks-based episode will be a Dallas-themed show, with subsequent episodes featuring designer Michael B and a profile of Michael Kors. The Oxygen Network is received by 13 million households nationally, and is available to DirectTV and RCN subscribers. It is not carried on Time Warner cable, which makes Oxygen inaccessible to most New York City cable subscribers.
