UNITED WAY RECORD SET BY LIMITED
NEW YORK — The Limited Inc.’s annual corporate-wide United Way campaign set a new record this year.
The retail chain’s offices here gave a total corporate donation of $1.76 million, which represents a 323 percent increase over last year. The average per capita gift was $1,735. Robin Burns, president and chief executive officer of the Limited’s Intimate Beauty Corp., chaired this year’s drive.
The Columbus, Ohio-based company will be honored tonight at a reception in the Rohatyn Room at Carnegie Hall, which will be followed by a performance by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
This year’s drive included a new element called the Leaders Circle, which resulted in The Limited Inc. setting a record for per capita corporate contributions to United Way for companies with more than 500 employees in New York City.
