BRAVO GIORGIO: Giorgio Armani is the subject of a one-hour episode on Bravo, the film and arts network, on Wednesday, March 14 at 10 p.m. During the show, Armani discusses his sometimes difficult personality, his relationships with Hollywood celebrities, his staff, his loves and the price he had to pay for fame. Bravo followed Armani for a year as he prepared for his spring runway show in Milan, attended a Hollywood fund-raiser featuring Eric Clapton, worked in his Milan studio and vacationed in Pantalleria in August.

DETAILS AND O GET HONORED: Details magazine’s design team was named “Creative Team of the Year” in Adweek’s Spring Magazine Issue that hits newsstands Monday. In addition, O, the Oprah Magazine gets the nod for “Startup of the Year.” The issue also contains the annual Hot List, which is embargoed until Monday.

NEW HIRE: John McCarus has been named associate publisher of The New Yorker. He reports to David Kahn, publisher of the magazine. Most recently, McCarus was associate publisher of Rolling Stone.

IN THE BAG: Publisher Luc Sohm is launching a French and English magazine dedicated exclusively to accessories. The bilingual publication, called The A , and will be published twice a year, in March and October, and will be sold on newsstands for about $7. “Accessories are the biggest fashion market and most fashion titles only give them limited coverage,” said Sohm.
Sohm said the debut issue, which will be distributed in Paris, New York, London and Milan

ITALIAN MOVE: Sally Altrocchi has been named group publisher, Italy for Fairchild Publications. She will be based in Fairchild’s Milan offices and will be responsible for directing advertising sales for W, Jane, Details and WWD Media Worldwide.
Most recently Altrocchi was president of Sally Altrocchi International Communications, an advertising communications consulting business specializing in luxury goods. Before that, she served as director of corporate public relations and advertising for Prada in Milan, and earlier served as international advertising director for Gucci.
She takes over duties formerly handled by Rosi Cavallini, who died last October. Her company, Studio Cavallini, will work with Altrocchi for a smooth transition through June.
