DIGERONIMO AND ST. ONGE SPLIT UP
NEW YORK — Stephen DiGeronimo and Gregg St. Onge, his business partner since 1992, have parted ways, the designer said Monday.
DiGeronimo said in a statement that he would restructure his signature sportswear business into a smaller operation targeting specialty stores and noted that he wants to “bring the business into a more intimate and creative mode.”
DiGeronimo could not be reached, but said in the statement that he and St. Onge, high school friends who founded the business together with a small family investment and money they had saved, have parted amicably and that the restructuring was not related to financial matters. St. Onge is leaving to pursue other opportunities, he said.
DiGeronimo added that he will continue consulting agreements he has in place with other design houses, including Sanyo, for which he designs a collection of outerwear, for the next two years.
