EXPOFIL OPENS TO NON-EUROPEANS: The organizers of the Paris yarn fair Expofil said they are opening the event to exhibitors based outside Western Europe.
“It is a logical evolution for Expofil, which, step by step, has managed to keep up with the steady globalization of its markets, while at the same time maintaining a strong identity,” show president Didier Tardy said in a statement.
Another change this season is the show’s venue: It will move from Eiffel-Branly to the Parc des Expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte for the June 5-7 staging.

DANAHY JOINS HAHN: Former Cone Mills Corp. president and chief executive officer J. Patrick Danahy last month joined textile consulting firm Hahn International as senior director.
The Stamford, Conn.-based firm is run by former Cotton Inc. ceo Nick Hahn.
Danahy, who left Cone in 1998, will be based in Greensboro, N.C.
