NEW YORK — For Gotham fashionistas, the arrival of the accessories boutique Destination is right on time.
On April 25, the 3,000-square-foot store, the largest in New York to carry just accessories, will open its doors in the trendier-by-the-second meatpacking district. It will feature collections by such designers and firms as Gem Kingdom, Sissi Rossi and Jacques Le Corre, among others.
Takanao Muramatsu, chief executive officer of the Japanese-based HP Group, Destination’s parent company, has combined the talents of accessories buyer Francoise Seigle-Carroll and interior designer Ante Vojnovic, who created the store’s elegant, minimalist decor, to bring together the collections, which will include rotating exhibits by home furnishings designers and contemporary artists. Muramatsu describes Destination as a store with “tamashi,” which means a “place with souls, spirits and strong power.”
