PARIS — Nina Ricci is apparently poised to name Italian Massimo Giussani as its new designer.
Sources said Giussani, who recently designed at Mila Schon, will reunite with Andrea Pinto, president of the Paris-based Nina Ricci. Previously, Pinto was managing director at the Milan-based Mila Schon from 1995 to 2000.
As reported, Nathalie Gervais resigned as artistic director of Nina Ricci after staging her fall 2001 collection last month. The Barcelona-based fashion and beauty conglomerate Puig Group acquired Ricci in 1998 and recently restructured its management.
Neither Pinto, who was travelling in Asia, nor Giussani could be reached for comment. Puig executives were also unavailable.
