WALK THIS WAY
NEW YORK — Fashion-forward women no longer have to suffer through sub-zero temperatures with bare legs. After a few seasons of little-to-no runway coverage, hosiery had a renaissance of sorts during the recent fall American collections. There were lots of sexy thigh-highs, checkered tights, punky fishnets and other textured socks and tights. The designer seal of approval should further boost many legwear retailers and vendors who are hoping for a repeat of last year’s unexpected mini-boom (see related story, page 24, in today’s WWD Accessories supplement).
