LONG BEACH, Calif. — The ASR Trade Expo — a triannual showcase for the surf, skate, swim and streetwear industries — could expand into four shows yearly, according to Court Overin, general manager at VNU Expositions, the new owner of ASR.
Overin said that a new show is being considered at the Show Piers in New York next March. Discussions are expected to be finished this April or May.
“We are looking at bringing in about 50 to 75 companies in 200 to 250 booths and getting in front of the fashion press as well as tristate retailers,” said Overin. “It will be more upscale than our California shows and focus on urban, music and club influences.”
While the show will be produced by ASR management, it has not been determined how the show will be affiliated with the action sports-intensive ASR Expos.
