NEW YORK — There are two possible paths when it comes to bridge looks: no-brainer matching outfits or cool pieces that stand on their own. And Michael Kors has chosen the latter course for his fall Kors collection. He’s whipped up lots of leather in red and silver, great balmacaan coats, oversized boyfriend jackets and his specialty — soft sweaters — this season in sweatshirt styles or acid-toned turtlenecks. The designer, who will open a Kors store on Mercer Street in late spring — “in time for the mass exodus to the Hamptons” — doesn’t want his line to be limited to any one age group. “Bridge has grown from soup to nuts,” says the designer. “We have students going to Spence that are getting items from Scoop and Pat Buckley buying khakis to garden in.”
