L’OREAL PROMOTES THREE, APPOINTS U.S. SPOKESMODEL
PARIS — French beauty giant L’Oreal announced the promotion of three of its top executives to the rank of vice president Thursday.
Beatrice Dautresme was named vice president responsible for managing strategic development, a newly created post. Since October 2000, she had been managing director of strategic development. Jean-Jacques Lebel has been appointed vice president charged with L’Oreal’s professional products division. Since January, he had been managing director of L’Oreal’s professional products division. He was formerly general manager for the Latin American region and has been with L’Oreal for 20 years. Giorgio Galli has been named vice president of corporate communications and exterior relations. Since October 2000, he had been managing director of corporate communications and exterior relations. Additionally, all three are members of the company’s executive committee.
In the U.S., L’Oreal added actress Jessica Alba to its list of spokesmodels. Alba, known for her role as Max in the “Dark Angel” TV series, will first be seen in ads for Feria hair color. Alba, a California native, recently won the TV Guide “Breakout Star of the Year” award.
