AUCOIN PULLING UP STAKES? Kevyn Aucoin could be on the move. The well-known makeup artist, who’s been writing a monthly column for Allure since July 1999 and contributing since 1991, is reportedly moving to InStyle when his contract expires at the end of April. Eric Sakas, creative director of Kevyn Aucoin Cosmetics, said, “We’ve had a great relationship with Allure, and we’re in discussions with them.” As for InStyle, Sakas had no comment.
According to an InStyle spokesman, “[Managing editor] Martha Nelson hasn’t spoken to Kevyn in months.”
Linda Wells, editor in chief of Allure, declined comment on the contract negotiations, but noted, “Our readers love him, and with Kevyn, we’re flattered other magazines do, too.”
