NEW YORK — An eclectic crowd came out for the YM party at Milk Studios last week, which featured a special performance by O-Town, the boy band featured on the cover of YM’s April MTV-themed issue.
At the event, which was held to celebrate the issue and toast photographer Matthew Rolston, who shot the cover, teens mingled with MTV VJs, including David Holmes and Brian McFayden, as well as fashion’s Jill Stuart, Nicole Miller and Andy Hilfiger.
Teens came to the event decked out in their favorite fashions. Among the looks on display were rock ‘n’ roll T-shirts, glitter make-up, hoop earrings, athletic-inspired looks and denim in all shapes and styles.
Chris Nicola, executive vice president of Todd Oldham Jeans, took notice that many of the looks worn by teens at the event were represented in the line’s spring-summer and fall offerings — an indicator, he said, of a good performance to come at retail.
“You see camouflage on a lot of these trendsetters here, so we know it will transcend well in the market,” said Nicola, adding studded jeans and the rock ‘n’ roll look to the list.
