PARIS — Some designers do their best work for evening, when they can cut loose with all the extravagance and fantasy their metier allows. Lace, tulle, chiffon and Gazar were layered and frothed to a fare-thee-well this spring couture season, in all sorts of lengths and in combinations that were relatively simple or wildly over-the-top.
