NEW YORK — Jim Weber has been named president and chief executive officer of Brooks Sports.
Weber has served on the company’s board of directors for two years, and, until recently, worked as managing director at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray in its Seattle investment banking practice.
Weber succeeds Eric Dreyer who left the company Monday to pursue other interests, according to a Brooks Sports spokeswoman.
Weber’s resume includes senior posts at Sim Sports, an action sports company; O’Brien International, a water sports label and Coleman Spas, a division of the Coleman Co.
Based in Bothell, Wash., Brooks caters to runners and other fitness enthusiasts.
In other news, Ann Iverson has joined Brooks’s board of directors. A 40-year veteran in the retail business, she has held ceo posts at Laura Ashley, Kaybee Toys and Mothercare UK.
