NEW YORK — David Lamer, a former Tommy Hilfiger Corp. executive, is joining investment banking firm Ferris, Baker Watts Inc. as a research equity analyst.
Lamer, who starts on March 12, will be covering major department stores and their vendors, including his former employer. He was at Hilfiger from 1992 to 1999. While at the fashion firm, where he was a member of the executive committee, Lamer was part of a team responsible for building Hilfiger’s department store business, according to Ferris, Baker. Lamer also held merchandising and consulting posts at Bloomingdale’s, Dillard’s and Federated Department Stores Direct-to-Consumer division.
Baltimore-based Ferris, Baker focuses on consumer categories including apparel and footwear, specialty retail and restaurants. The addition of Lamer will broaden the firm’s coverage to include department stores and large capitalization manufacturers.
