NEW YORK — As part of Felissimo’s new direction, the retailer has disbanded its workforce.
With the exception of a few executives working in information services and its catalog business, all of the retailer’s 55 employees will be let go when its storewide sale ends Feb. 17, according to a Felissimo spokeswoman.
The company staffs employees at its store at 10 West 56th Street and in its executive offices located in the Fendi building at 720 Fifth Avenue.
Employees will be given four-week severance packages and use of Felissimo’s offices for their job searches.
As reported, Felissimo plans to close its doors after the sale for a few months to convert its store into an exhibition space that offers private label items like perfume and soft dressing.
By taking a more artistic bent, Felissimo plans to make the New York unit more in line with its concept shop in Nagoya Takashimaya in Japan and its new store in Beijing.
