NEW YORK — Bubbles Bott has joined Jones Apparel Group as president of the company’s Polo Jeans division just two months after being named president of Anne Klein.
In her new role, Bott will report to Jackwyn Nemerov, president and chief operating officer, and president and ceo of the women’s better apparel group.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Ms. Bott to our management team,” Nemerov said in a statement. “She will work with senior management to further expand the presence of Polo Jeans Co.”
Bott served as president at Anne Klein since late August, and was hired there in one of the first moves to develop the division since John D. Idol was named chief executive officer of its parent Kasper ASL in July.
Former Anne Klein president Wendy R. Chivian will return to her former post, a position she left to serve as vice president of sales for the larger Kasper division, Idol said.
Regarding Bott’s departure, Idol said Monday: “It was not something we anticipated happening, but we wish Bubbles the best of luck. She’s an outstanding executive. The good news is we have Wendy Chivian and she will resume those duties. For us, we won’t miss a beat.”
Bott, who started her career in retail positions at Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s, left Tommy Hilfiger last year after 12 years, having most recently been president of Tommy Hilfiger Juniors. She was president of Hilfiger Women’s Sportswear until 1999.
In another move, Kasper ASL announced last week that Richard Owen has joined the company as senior vice president of worldwide operations. Owen, who most recently spent 14 years at Liz Claiborne Inc. in various positions within manufacturing and sourcing, will be responsible for all manufacturing, sourcing and distribution at Kasper.
