NEW YORK — Giorgio Armani, who has designed costumes for such movies as “American Gigolo” and “The Untouchables,” is going deeper into the film world.
He is the executive producer of Martin Scorsese’s documentary, “Il Mio Viaggio in Italia” (“My Travels Through Italy”). The film will have its Manhattan premiere tonight during the 2002 New York Film Festival, and will be screened again during NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts International Students Film Festival on Monday. Armani is also sponsoring both screenings.
The film chronicles Scorsese’s personal journey through Italian movie history. It is an introduction to Italian cinema, a tribute to some of the best films and filmmakers, and an autobiography.
