LORO PIANA TO OPEN 9 SHOPS BY YEAREND
NEW YORK — Loro Piana, which two weeks ago opened a 2,400-square-foot store in the Americana shopping center in Manhasset, N.Y., plans by the end of 2001 to have nine more retail sites operating.
The stores are planned for Munich, Seoul, Paris, Verona, Bologna, Leccio, Italy, as well as three corners in Japan. That will bring the total Loro Piana retail chain to 43 sites worldwide.
The Americana store sells the full Loro Piana collection, including men’s, women’s, children’s, accessories, home and custom suiting for men and women. The store concept was designed by Italian architect Misa Poggi and locally supported by New York architect Marco Carrano.
In the U.S., Loro Piana also has units in Chicago, Costa Mesa, Calif., Manhattan and Aspen. Outside the U.S., this year Loro Piana opened sites in Genova, Portofino, Italy, Tokyo, Kyoto Daimaru, Japan and in Harrods in London.
