HACKER PROMOTED AT AVEDA

NEW YORK — Aveda has named Chris Hacker vice president of global marketing and design, effective today. Hacker will replace Daria Myers, previously senior vice president of global marketing, who is taking a sabbatical.
Hacker joined Aveda in July 2000 as vice president and creative director. Since that time, he has been responsible for all aspects of design for Aveda, including visual merchandising, packaging, store design and advertising. In his newly expanded role, he also will be responsible for Aveda’s global marketing and consumer marketing areas. “Chris will help us continue the winning course, already begun, with consistency and stability,” said Dominique Conseil, president of Aveda.
Prior to joining Aveda, Hacker was an image and design consultant for companies including Sony Corp., The Walt Disney Co., Mattel and Freeman Cosmetics.
Earlier in his career, Hacker was design director for Aramis and executive design director for visual merchandising and store design for The Estee Lauder Cos.
