H&M GROWTH CONTINUES
NEW YORK — New Hampshire is the next site for Hennes & Mauritz.
The fast-fashion Swedish retailer will open its latest addition at noon Friday at Rockingham Park Mall in Salem. The store will be about 21,000 square feet and will feature women’s and children’s clothing.
With this store’s debut and other recent openings, H&M is zipping along with plans to operate 85 stores in the U.S. by the end of 2003. The retailer now has 25 locations in the U.S., and over 750 stores in 14 countries.
Other shops bowing this fall include Danbury, Conn., Oct. 19, and Queens Center and Kingston, N.Y., in mid-November. Also in November, second stores are planned for a location outside Boston and in New Jersey. H&M christened its first New Jersey unit in Phillipsburg last Friday, and opened in Saratoga and Boston in September.
