COTTON SHARES: Cotton Inc. and mall owner Jones Lang LaSalle are partnering up to help victims of last month’s terrorist attacks. Starting in November, through a “Share the Spirit” program, they will sell Vermont Teddy Bear Co.-designed teddy bears, clad in cotton American flag T-shirts, for $5 a piece, in ten of the developer’s top malls to consumers who spend at least $50 in cotton products in those malls.
All proceeds from the sales will go to The New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund.
“At a time of year when we hold friends and family near, it allows consumers to give of themselves and help others, while bringing a much needed boost to America’s economy,” said Paula Rosario, senior director, retail marketing, at Cotton Inc.
“The malls are extremely excited about this program,” added Beth Faulkner, vice president, regional marketing manager, at Jones Lang LaSalle.
“They are able to offer a lovely, comfort item to their patrons and create a mechanism through which funds can be raised for an important cause.”
