LOS ANGELES — Fashion agency SPR will announce today the installment of “Audi Presents Los Angeles Fashion Week,” a six-hour marathon on Nov. 2 featuring designers Cornell Collins, David Cardona, Eduardo Lucero, Grey Ant, Tree and Jared Gold.
The event, from noon to 6 p.m. follows the New York edition spotlighting Los Angeles designers, of which only Gold and Alicia Lawhon staged shows. Presentations by Michelle Mason, Magda Berliner and Grey Ant were interrupted because of the Sept. 11 attacks.
SPR and Audi had originally planned a party during next spring’s market here, Nov. 1-6, but decided to shift to a more business-oriented event, according to organizers.
The six back-to-back shows will run at the Tibitz Creative Stages at 1535 Ivar Avenue, among the buildings that have recently undergone renovations along the historic Hollywood Boulevard corridor. Up to 300 attendees, including buyers and press, are expected to the invite-only shows.
Only Tree and Gold are clients of SPR, which specializes in public relations, show production and consulting local fledgling designers. Mason is slated to show Nov. 3 at downtown’s St. Viviana’s Cathedral in downtown. Berliner will not be staging a presentation.
