DAMIANI: WE HAVEN’T SEEN SUIT

MILAN — Lawsuit? What lawsuit?
That was the reaction of Italian jewelry house Casa Damiani to press reports that celebrity newlyweds Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston had sued the company for $50 million for allegedly copying and selling the couple’s wedding bands.
“The news was a surprise for us. Our legals haven’t received anything, neither as a company nor in the person of [creative director] Silvia Damiani and we believe that nothing will arrive,” said a spokeswoman for the Valenza, Italy-based company on Sunday. “However, if we were to be notified, we must stress that there are no legal elements for the accusations and, notwithstanding the esteem we have for the couple, we will defend our reputation in the appropriate headquarters.”
Casa Damiani had produced both Aniston’s engagement ring, which was designed by Pitt, and the couple’s white gold and diamond wedding bands.
