ANNIVERSARY PARTY: Gearing up for its 250th anniversary on Feb. 16, Caswell-Massey, the upscale perfumery and personal care chain, is launching limited editions — 1,000 bottles each — of 10 men’s fragrances, 10 women’s fragrances and 10 discontinued fragrances, beginning Dec. 1. Each will be available in 1-oz. bottles packaged in jewelry boxes and will retail for $50.

P&G SHIFTS HAIR CARE HONCHOS: Diana S. Shaheen, marketing director for Physique, is now Physique’s top manager and is also assuming responsibility for Vidal Sassoon brands in North America. Jane L. Wildman, formerly general manager for P&G’s Physique business, has moved to a new assignment in P&G’s global baby care business. Mike Wege, formerly marketing director for Vidal Sassoon hair care, has left the company.

SOFT SHEEN/CARSON TAPS MATTHEWS: Candace Matthews has been named president of Soft Sheen/Carson, L’Oreal USA’s ethnic division. Matthews, a former Coca-Cola executive, reports to Joseph Campinell, president of the L’Oreal Consumer Products Division, effective November 5, 2001. Matthews succeeds Terri Gardner, who announced in June she would be leaving the company to pursue personal interests.
