DESIGN CONTEST: Up-and-coming designers have another opportunity to gain exposure, this time through a foundation that will pay for a fashion presentation during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
A competition has been established by Italian wine maker Ecco Domani to select five designers who will receive a $20,000 grant each to assist with a show. Applications, which will be judged by a group of fashion retailers and editors, must be submitted by Nov. 21. Winners will be selected by Dec. 12. Information can be obtained from the Fashion Group International’s Web site at fgi.org.
